I am continually working at providing my clients with professional graphic design solutions which meet my their needs and budgets. From Editorial Design for magazines, books and brochures through Illustrations (both classic and digital), packaging solutions and corporate identity packages and the production of digital billboards, my maxim has always been "If you can print it, I can design it".

Graphic Design

My passion for graphic design stretches back to my first job working as a Drawing Office Technician for the local Edinburgh council, where my work producing technical and architectural plans led to a desire to produce more colourful and interesting pieces, and to my fascination with fonts and all things typographic.

Over the years, I have created editorials for various magazines, books and broshures, produced posters and flyers for various events, a varied selection of corporate identity solutions (including logo design, letterheads, business cards, vehicle graphics, etc), as well as advertisements for print and branding.

I always strive to find the best possible solution to my suit my client's wishes and budgets, including offering a selection of print options to suit most budgets.

Illustrations

For as long as I can remember, I have loved to draw. For me, a pencil is the ultimate tool, something which – with a little skill and a lot of imagination – can create entirely new worlds. I particularly enjoy producing photorealistic illustrations, and I have recently started a collection of illustrations with which I draw only the areas struck by direct light, leaving the eye and the brain of the beholder to fill in the gaps. I particulary enjoy working with graphite pencils, but I have had very good experiences with coloured pencils and pastels too.

A computer mouse doesn't appear to have any particular qualities that might produce any reasonable kind of illustrations, but with perseverance, patience and the Adobe Illustrator software, I have found that I can also produce illustrations which also reach the high standards I set myself and those of my clients.

Artistic Paintings

Recently, I have rediscovered the joys of painting, and I have been using watercolours, acrylics, coloured pencils and/or pastels to create artworks as various and challenging as pet portraits, landscape paintings, illustrations of houses and homes and wall murals. Whatever your illustravie needs, I am sure I can provide you with the perfect and artistic solution.

Creative Writing

I have always enjoyed writing, and I love the challenge of creating texts that are informative, accurate and if needs be, humourous. I currently the curator of several internet blogs, covering subjects as diverse as graphic design, music, travel and "general ignorance"!

I have recently produced a book of travel stories entitled "By Rule Of Thumb", and I hope to find a publisher for this book in the not-too-distant future in order to share my travel experiences with the world.

Photography

Photography has always been a keen hobby of mine, and I often try to incorporate my photographs into my graphic design, when relevant.

I specifically enjoy architectural and nature photography, but I have recently begun a new photographic exercise that concentrates on human portraits which capture not only the image of the person, but their personality too
